La Chiesa è chiamata delle Santissime Anime del Purgatorio, perchè qui è confuso l'atto religioso con quello politico, dentro questa Chiesa c'è il grande quadro dei Santi e delle Anime Purganti del palermitano Francesco Manno e diverse sculture in cui sono raffigurati teschi con le insegne di re, papi, cardinali e vescovi, che simboleggiano la caducità delle ricchezze e dei poteri umani...e data la vita che avevano condotto non potevano che mandarli in Purgatorio ad espiare prima di raggiungere il Paradiso. Grazie ad Eugenio Costa che mi ha fornito queste informazioni.
