“Gatto Sphynx” - Gatti senza pelo, non solo per chi non ha peli sulla lingua, ma per tutti gli amanti degli animali un po' originali. I gatti senza pelo appartengono ad una razza canadese detta canadian sphynx. Negli anni settanta un'allevatrice canadese decise di cominciare ad incrociare gatti privi di pelo, per ottenere una nuova razza. La razza venne selezionata nel corso dei decenni, grazie anche all'apporto di alcuni allevatori europei e nord Americani. Nel tentativo di mantenere il gene modificato, e di evitare l'incrocio tra consanguinei, si accoppiarono i primi sphynx anche con gatti di altre razze. Oggi le cucciolate di sphynx presentano tutti i nuovi nati privi di pelo. Sono gatti molto particolari, e non solo per il loro pelo. Visto che sono nudi, temono molto il freddo, e durante le giornate invernali devono forzatamente vivere in casa. Sono di indole dolce e affettuosa, l'aspetto può piacere o no.
