E' uno scatto senza alcun valore che pubblico per dare una nota di colore e spezzare così per un po' la monotonia del bianco e nero. Ed ora, per non perdere le buone o cattive abitudini che siano, ecco una breve didascalia storica. Place de la Concorde" fu concepita da Ange Jacques Gabriel nel 1755 come un ottagono con il perimetro delimitato dagli "Champs Elysees" e dal "Jardin des Tuileries". Le fontane, aggiunte successivamente da Jacques Hittorff, sono ispirate a quelle della basilica di San Pietro a Roma. Ai tempi della rivoluzione Francese, la piazza divenne non solo il luogo di passaggio per i cortei, sia improvvisati sia previsti dal protocollo ma qui vi fu posta anche la ghigliottina che inizialmente venne utilizzata per l'esecuzione dei ladri dei gioielli della Corona. ra il 1836 e il 1846, la piazza viene trasformata dall'architetto Jacques Ignace Hittorff che ne conserva il concetto originario espresso da Gabriel. Le sole cose aggiunte sono le due fontane monumentali ai lati dell'obelisco e una serie di lampioni e colonne rostrali che circondano la piazza. Le due fontane celebrano la navigazione fluviale (la fontana nord presenta le raffigurazioni sedute del Reno e del Rodano della raccolta del grano e della ragione) e la navigazione marittima (la fontana sud presenta le raffigurazione del Mediterraneo, dell'Oceano e della Pesca). Le colonne rostrali sono decorate con prue di navi, che evocano lo stemma della città di Parigi mentre le statue allegoriche di otto villaggi francesi definiscono il perimetro dell'ottagono immaginato da Gabriel.
