Il Sasso Gordona è una montagna delle Prealpi Luganesi al confine tra Italia e Svizzera, anche se per lo più in territorio italiano (Val d'Intelvi) dove si trova la vetta alta 1.410 m. Il monte, la cui cima offre un variegato ed interessante panorama, è meta ambita dagli appassionati di escursionismo. Sulle pendici del monte sono presenti diverse opere fortificate, mai utilizzate a scopo militare, risalenti alla prima guerra mondiale, che facevano parte della Frontiera Nord, il sistema difensivo popolarmente noto come "Linea Cadorna", comprensivo di 1 ricovero in galleria, 3 ricoveri minori murati, 3 linee di trincea protette e 5 postazioni per mitragliatrice o cannoni leggeri. Alla base della cuspide sommitale, a circa 1200 m. si trova il Rifugio Prabello, ex caserma della Guardia di Finanza che è l'edifico che si vede nella foto. Scatto effettuato il 2 Gennaio 2018 dalla collinetta che sovrasta il rifugio.
