Alle 17:28 di Giovedì 21 dicembre 2017 siamo entrati ufficialmente in inverno. È quello infatti il momento che sancisce l'inizio dell'inverno (astronomicamente parlando), un momento astronomico che porta con sé una ricchezza di tradizioni e curiosità. Con il solstizio d'inverno, entriamo anche astronomicamente nella stagione fredda. Ma che cosa vuol dire, di preciso, solstizio? Letteralmente significa: “Sole Fermo”, Solstitium è una parola latina (da sol, sole, e sistere, stare fermo) che indica una "fermata" del Sole, una apparente "pausa" nel cammino che la nostra stella sembra compiere nella volta celeste. Nei giorni intorno al solstizio d'inverno infatti, il Sole sembra smettere di calare rispetto all'equatore celeste e "fermarsi" in cielo per poi invertire il suo cammino e iniziare il moto di avvicinamento all'equatore celeste (che porterà le giornate ad allungarsi). ------- ps1: l'angolino azzurro sulla dx è il mare, spettacolo offerto dall'Appennino Ligure, ormai purtroppo sempre più raro da vedere. ------- ps2: il “ciaspolatore folle” nella foto è il sottoscritto, la foto risale ad alcuni anni fa ed è stata scattata dall'amico Nando.
