Una sera io e mia moglie abbiamo deciso di evitare i soliti itinerari delle Crete senesi e su consiglio del gestore dell'agritur che ci ospitava ci siamo inoltrati lungo una strada bianca nella zona di Radi a pochi km da Siena. Auspicavo di riprendere qualche scorcio all'imbrunire che solo le Crete ti sanno offrire, quando, con sommo stupore, all'uscita di una curva ci siamo imbattuti in una femmina di capriolo che stazionava nel centro della strada. Con flemma british si è infilata in una siepe per poi comparire poco distante a fianco della macchina. La foto l'ho scattata dal finestrino con un 18- 140 a 112 mmm di focale. Ma la nostra amica non era sola, infatti in lontananza sull'arativo si possono intravvedere altri due esemplari. E' sempre un'emozione osservare questi animali. Per me che non conosco la zona lo ritenevo impensabile un incontro così e la gioia è stata doppia.
