I Santuari Mariani hanno sempre esercitato sulla sottoscritta un fascino particolare, ma se solo fosse possibile esprimere un giudizio o eleggerne uno a “Santuario del Cuore”, non avrei alcuna esitazione: Lourdes. Ci andai la prima volta come cronista, inviata da un direttore che con un eufemismo definisco “maschilista”, mi convocò e mi disse: “Vai a Lourdes, sei una donna con le…. Non farti influenzare dalle femminucce piangenti in quel bagno di folla, e fammi una cronaca vera”. Non ci feci molto caso, sapevo che quel signore si fregiava con un certo orgoglio del titolo di “ateo”, e con Vittorio, il nostro fotografo partii per quest'avventura. Avevo 24 anni, una fede cattolica autentica, non inquinata da anni e anni di studi filosofici ed umanistici, ma animata solo dallo spirito che il mestiere che avevo scelto, mi ispirava. Non posso e non voglio farla lunga a descrivervi tutte le emozioni provate, mi limito solo a dirvi che al di là del fascino misterioso e della pace che si trova in quel luogo, c'è molto da vedere e visitare. La foto che vedete, è del Petit Lourdes: la fedele ricostruzione in muratura e in scala del villaggio di Lourdes nel 1858, così com'era, secondo i documenti autentici, al tempo di Bernadette. E' un'opera meravigliosa che, se andate nei Pirenei, non mancate di visitare, insieme al Museo, al Mulino, alla Casa e al Museo delle Cere. Sono percorsi indimenticabili, che vi rimarranno nel cuore. A questo punto, sarete curiosi di sapere come finì fra la sottoscritta e il direttore ateo: ebbene al mio ritorno, consegnammo tutto il materiale fotografico, ma mancava il mio articolo che, reclamò immediatamente. La mia risposta candida e forse, un tantino imprudente: “Avrà la cronaca di Lourdes, solo se non cambia una virgola, diversamente, se vuole, ho abbastanza coraggio per affrontarne le conseguenze”. Venti giorni dopo, uscì l'articolo: non aveva cambiato una virgola. Commenti, consigli e critiche sempre super graditi. Grazie.
