I was lucky to have this man standing absolutely still for nearly a minute. He is exactly and directly in the very centre of the cathedral, under the tallest Spire in England. #fisheye #cathedrals

Thank you very much everyone for their positive comments - I know all too well that fisheye lenses divide opinion.

This was the first hour of use of this new (secondhand) lens for me. However, I did get some experience with circular fisheye on my very old full-frame FX Nikon D700 a few years ago, using Sigma's FX equivalent, the 8mm f3.5 EX circular fisheye, many of which are in Juza galleries.

However, when I was forced to replace my completely worn out D7000, I part exchanged the 8mm to get the Nikon D7100 I am currently using. I had always planned to get back into circular fisheye imagery, but this time with the only DX version available from ANY manufacturer, this 4.5mm Sigma.

It is a difficult lens to use and results always look disappointing, but with some editing can look decent. The number of subjects suitable is also very limited but our big wonderful Cathedrals is one that does.

Cheers!
