In this shot we have 3 of the Birmingham coalition of males lions that rule northern Sabi Sands. Originally a coalition of 5 one of the males died last year from injuries inflicted by a Buffalo. Without having a close up I cannot confirm the names of all 3 but one is definitely Mfumo who was identified by some cracking facial scars before the boys joined up together on the move. One of the other males in the coalition was not present at the time. The B-Boys took over northern Sabi Sands in late 2015 and are now in their prime years. They took over from the Matimba coalition who moved south into Londolozi territory and have a too and from with the former all powerful Majingilane coalition who in in turn previously ousted one of the most notorious male coalitions in all of Africa the Mapogo coalition featured Nat Geo's Brothers in Blood. In the short term there is no other male coalition in Sabi Sands who can challenge the B-Boys dominance in the north. They recently killed a nomadic male they had crossed over from Kruger.
