La fontana a quattro di Polignano, per i Polignanesi : A fnten a quatt. Il suo nome deriva dalle quattro bocche di delfino, dalle quali sgorga l'acqua dal 1926. Probabilmente una delle più belle fontanelle pugliesi. Tengo a questa fontanella in particolar modo, in quanto oltre a dissetarmi ogni qualvolta ci passi accanto (e devo dire che per me è quasi un'obbligo), mi ricorda anche la mia defunta mamma. Lei, mi raccontava di essere stata presente all'inaugurazione con tanto di carabineri con pennacchio, scolaresca e podestà. Sulla fontana è visibile l'epigrafe: Aquam hanc ovo diutivus optatam eo laetius nunc bibimus. Anno V ineunte a fascibus receptis MCMXXVI Ringrazio Lorenzo per la traduzione: "Quest'acqua, quanto più lungamente l'abbiamo desiderata, tanto più lietamente oggi la beviamo.
