Come sempre prevale l'istinto di protezione e conservazione della specie. Il capriolo, già per natura animale molto diffidente, accentua il senso di protezione verso la prole nel periodo della crescita. Questa immagine ne è un esempio. La femmina non poteva vedermi perchè ero perfettamente mimetizzato, però i sensi allertati al massimo sono riusciti in qualche modo a percepire la mia presenza. Odore o il click della reflex. I piccoli ignari e inesperti proseguono tranquillamente il loro pascolo, tanto sono sicuri che mamma li protegge.
