Per una strana associazione di idee e di pensiero, chissà perché riguardando questo mio vecchio scatto mi son venuti in mente i versi di Arnaldo Fusinato, le lettere di Foscolo, primo vero vate del Risorgimento ancora agli albori. Non voglio farla lunga e annoiarvi : la sorte di Venezia nel 1848, assediata dagli austriaci di Radetzky, (colpita anche dal colera), dopo la sconfitta di Carlo Alberto (I guerra d'Indipendenza), e poi costretto all'esilio, la conosciamo tutti. E dando corso ai miei pensieri, che mi piace postare questo tramonto veneziano, citando a caso qualche verso di Fusinato, un poeta minore, ma senz'altro un grande italiano. “Fra i rotti nugoli dell'occidente Il raggio perdesi del sol morente, e mesto sibila per l'aria bruna l'ultimo genito della laguna. Passa una gondola della città “Ehi della gondola, qual novità?” “Il morbo infuria, il pan ci manca sul ponte sventola bandiera bianca” Se può servire una nota di congedo: forse gli italiani di ieri amavano di più il nostro stivale.
