Il 21 giugno, Solstizio d'estate, è il giorno in cui il sole raggiunge la maggiore distanza dall'equatore. Ed è anche, non a caso, lo Yoga Day. A dicembre del 2014 l'Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite, su proposta del Premier indiano Modi, ha chiesto e ottenuto il riconoscimento ufficiale della giornata internazionale dello yoga il 21 giugno. A conferma del fatto che questa pratica indiana millenaria è un dono inestimabile per tutta l'umanità. Tantissime le iniziative di invito a praticare insieme: per esempio, a Milano c'era l'invito a uno YogaLunch Express, condotto da Antonio Spera, e poi, dalle ore 19, dopo i saluti del Console dell'India, all'esercizio collettivo: Save Time, Do Yoga! con Piero Vivarelli, con accompagnamento musicale (partecipazione gratuita con kit del praticante). Mentre a Roma l'Ambasciata indiana ha organizzato ben 9 giorni di eventi dedicati (fino 25 giugno). Una di queste ragazze, del gruppo Yoga in piazza San Fedele, mi ha spiegato che è una disciplina orientale riconosciuta anche dal mondo scientifico. E' una disciplina millenaria pur essendo moderna e attuale. È riconosciuta come una delle più complete per la salute del corpo e della mente. Aiuta ritrovare una condizione di armonia psicofisica ed è utile per sviluppare la conoscenza di sé. Se eseguita con continuità e costanza può diventare uno strumento prezioso per la prevenzione e la cura di disagi fisici e psichici. Aiuta a ridurre stress e ansia riportando armonia psico-fisica. Dona tonificazione muscolare, forza ed elasticità. Migliora la circolazione, la respirazione e ci ricarica di energia vitale. Aumenta il livello di attenzione, concentrazione e presenza mentale.
