Tanti anni fa e precisamente nel 1982, per un mio libro sul teatro di prosa, intervistai Paola Borboni. Fu una lunga chiacchierata a più riprese fra Roma e Milano. L'attrice aveva un'appartamento milanese in via Ippolito Nievo, e lì, in un pomeriggio uggioso e piovoso, mi parlò del suo infelice amore per Salvo Randone, che per un suo compleanno le mandò un mazzo di fiori. Quei fiori, ingialliti dal tempo, lei li aveva sempre conservati fra le pagine di un testo di Pirandello. Oggi, a distanza di tanti e tanti anni, ho voluto postare questa foto, cercando il più possibile di imitare quelli che vidi fra le ingiallite pagine di “Così è se vi pare”. E' un modo per ricordare questa grande donna, che mi ha onorata della sua amicizia e posso dirlo con orgoglio, anche del suo grande affetto. Credo di essere stata l'unica giornalista ad andare parecchie volte a Bodio Lamnago, una casa di riposo, dove poi, è morta nel 1995. Potrei scrivere un libro su Paola Borboni, non solo la sua biografia, ma tanti episodi, e soprattutto le sue micidiali e simpaticissime battute. Per farvi sorridere, ve ne cito solo qualcuna: Litiga con Renato Rascel, durante le prove di “Ifigenia nel porto di Aulide”, regista il grande Luchino Visconti. Alla fine, Rascel, non ne può più, e le dice: “Taci, Paola, ormai sei vecchia, non vuoi adeguarti ai tempi”. E lei, di rimando: “Sì, sono vecchia, ma sono stata giovane e bella, tu, alto, mai”. Un'altra volta un politico non la finiva più di elogiare i meriti di un certo governo, e lei per tutta risposta: “Mah, sarà!!! Ma sai, per me, i governi sono come le mutande di una donna, c'è sempre qualcuno che li vuole far cadere”. L'ultima: ero in redazione, squilla il telefono, mi passano la Borboni, che mi urla nell'orecchio: “ Allora, domani mi sposo, ti telefono perché so che ci sarai, e siccome sei una giornalista seria, voglio dirti, che sposo Bruno Vilar, dalla cintola in sù. Scrivilo, Annamaria, a grandi lettere, perché domani ci sarà il pellegrinaggio delle comari (i miei colleghi) a Gravellona Toce. Era il 18 dicembre 1972. Ciao Paola, ho condiviso un po' di ricordi con i miei amici fotografi, ti mando un bacio, e vorrei mandarti se, solo ti arrivasse anche il profumo di quei tuoi fiori ingialliti dal tempo, ma sempre vivi nel tuo cuore.
