Un fazzoletto di terra, un minuscolo lembo di piana alluvionale disteso tra l'Arno e la strada regionale a due passi da casa: non ho trovato in tutta la valle del fiume un altro pezzetto di campo coperto, anche solo in parte, dai fiori più spontanei della primavera! Il proprietario, vecchio e saggio agricoltore, mi ha spiegato che quest'anno, dopo un ciclo di utilizzo intensivo, ha lasciato a riposo il terreno favorendo la crescita in piena libertà delle erbe cosiddette infestanti; ed ho notato che anch'egli ammirava rapito, e col sorriso di un bimbo, quel tripudio di vita e di colori ...
