Il palazzo del Louvre :Palais du Louvre è una antica residenza reale francese situata sulla rive droite della Senna a Parigi, tra i Giardini della Tuilleries e la Chiesa di Saint Germain l'Auxerrois. Si estende su una superficie di più di 135.000 m2 ed è il secondo più grande palazzod'Europa, dopo quello del Parlamento Europeo rumeno. Al suo interno ospita uno dei più celebri musei d'arte del mondo, ma anche una scuola superiore di storia dell'arte, ed il museo delle arti decorative di Parigi. È classificato come Monumento storico di Francia. Presenta opere d'arte delle antiche civiltà e dal Medio Evo fino al 1850. Si divide in 8 sezioni: Orientali antiche, Arti islamiche, Egiziane antiche, Greche, Etrusche, Romane e, per quanto riguarda la storia più recente, dipinti, sculture, stampe e disegni. Aperto al pubblico come museo nel 1793, qualche anno dopo la Rivoluzione francese, il Louvre è un museo delle arti universale. Inizialmente vi si trovavano i beni della collezione reale e successivamente, grazie ad acquisizioni regolari ed alcune forzose divenne presto una delle più importanti del mondo. Con la sconfitta di Napoleone a Waterloo nel 1815 la collezione perse molte delle opere acquisite durante l'impero. Il proposito di creare un museo delle arti universale fu comunque conseguito e il museo del Louvre racchiude oggi gran parte delle migliori opere delle civiltà del passato e del presente. Universale è anche il numero di visitatori annui, oltre 9 milioni! Il Louvre, con il suo susseguirsi di metamorfosi architettoniche, ha dominato il centro di Parigi negli ultimi 800 anni. Situata sulla rive droite delle Senna, la fortezza medievale fu trasformata dalla monarchia francese in un palazzo reale. Con la demolizione del Palazzo delle Tuileries nel 1882 nasce il Louvre, così come appare ai giorni nostri. Dal 1989 il cortile del museo ospita la Piramide del Louvre. Fortemente voluta dall'ex presidente francese François Mitterrand e disegnata da Leoh Ming Pei, la piramide, è parte integrante della nuova entrata. Quest'opera, che riempe di luce naturale il museo, fu accolta con critiche feroci. Ma esattamente come per la Torre Eiffel e il Centre Pompidou, col passare del tempo è diventata uno dei simboli di Parigi. Critiche, consigli e commenti sempre super graditi. Grazie.
