Sabato pomeriggio, mi sono fermata a comprare due palloncini da questo signore per regalarli a due bimbi che abitano l'appartamento di fianco al mio. Gli ho chiesto come andassero gli affari e mi ha risposto: "Da quando la gente ha letto sui giornali che in Inghilterra hanno vietato l'uso di far volare i palloncini, vendo sempre meno." Tornata a casa, mi sono documentata e in effetti palloncini, e plastica di tutti i generi è stata messa al bando, perché inquinante. E fin qui, tutto risaputo, ma che fosse vietato ai bambini di far volare un palloncino... e invece proprio vietato perché, i palloncini quando scoppiano in cielo cadono anche in mare e negli oceani, e migliaia di uccelli sono stati trovati con cordoni di plastica al collo, e quindi deleteri per i volatili. Pare che circa l'80% sia stato trovato morto per occlusione intestinale. In considerazione dell'attendibilità di questi studi, nel Regno Unito, e prima fra tutte, nella città di Wincester, nel giugno 2016 (da il Messaggero) è stato vietato di far volare i palloncini nei parchi, nelle piazze e nei giardini pubblici.
