Patrimonio dell'Umanità UNESCO, il Monastero di Torba si trova nel comune di Gornate Olona (VA). La costruzione risale all'impero romano e aveva inizialmente funzione difensiva, poi venne utilizzato dai Goti, dai Bizantini e dai Longobardi. La torre di tre piani risale al V secolo ed era utilizzata come abitazione mentre il quarto piano della torre (ora chiuso alle visite) risale all'VIII secolo quando, con l'arrivo delle monache, il complesso assunse funzione religiosa. Il monastero di Torba alcuni anni or sono fu utilizzato anche come set per le riprese della pubblicità di una nota marca di yogurt in cui compariva il trio comico Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo.
