Il Nespolo del Giappone: è una pianta da frutto originario della Cina orientale, dove è ancora coltivato, così come in Giappone, in zone temperato-calde; diffuso negli Stati Uniti e nell'areale mediterraneo soprattutto per ornamentale, mentre la coltivazione avviene in Spagna, nella Valencia, in Italia, Appartiene alla Famiglia delle Rosaceae, sottofamiglia Pomoidee, ma il genere è Eriobotrya, specie japonica. E' una pianta sempreverde, con foglie grandi tormentose nella pagine inferiore, apparato radicale superficiale. La fioritura va da novembre a febbraio, con fiori pentameri e con 20 stami e 5 pistilli, il cui numero varia dai 200 fino a 600, con la selezione, fiori che sono riuniti in pannocchie. Naturalmente critiche e consigli sempre ben accetti.
