con Kenko Pro 300 DGX 2.0x, 1/1000 f/11.0, ISO 1600, hand held. Dintorni di Cantagallo, Italy. Specie: Picus viridis

Wild..... Appoggio su monopiede..ritaglio 20% per composizione.... Il modo in cui ho fotografato questo Picchio ve lo devo proprio raccontare...quel giorno ero appostato sul bordo di un prato, riparato solo da qualche cespuglio di Ginepro e dei piccoli Corbezzoli, nel prato stavano pascolando delle pecore (una trentina). Approfittavo del gregge perchè volevo provare a fare qualche buono scatto alla Ballerina gialla, ce ne erano due o tre che svolazzavano sul dorso delle pecore per approfittare dei loro parassiti (zecche). Alle Ballerine poi ho fatto solo qualche scatto ma abbastanza scadente. Ad un certo punto le pecore pian piano si sono avvicinate verso di me,in pratica le avevo a 20/30 metri. Sopra di me ad una decina di metri di altezza c'era quel tronco secco di Acacia che vedete nella foto, improvvisamente è arrivato come un razzo questo Picchio Verde, e pian piano si è assestato come vedete in foto senza dare il minimo segno di sospetto verso la mia persona...si, io ero un pò nascosto ma nascosto ad altezza di uomo, per cui lui dall'alto mi vedeva tutto e bene...a quel punto mi sono detto, o la va o la spacca...gli punto contro il tele (su monopiede) almeno uno scatto cerco di farlo. Fatto stà che ho alzato il cannone e ho cominciato a scattare,prima scatto singolo per non creare rumore eccessivo,poi uno,due,tre,quattro,cinque scatti e non si muoveva, sembrava imbambolato, a quel punto non mi sono neanche più curato di fargli paura ed ho ricominciato a scattare. Per farla corta gli ho fatto ancora una ventina di foto, poi la curiosità mi ha assalito e mi sono spostato di un metro o due verso di lui per vedere cosa faceva, morale della favola mi ha guardato con attenzione e poi con calma si e involato verso la parte opposta del prato. Poi ragionandoci sopra ho capito il suo comportamento...lui era tranquillizzato dalla presenza delle pecore,in pratica è "un'abitue" del luogo, la mia presenza l'ha associata al gregge. Infatti i picchi molte vanno a terra dove pascolano gli erbivori, questi sia con le zampe e nel brucare l'erba smuovono, e se umida la terra sollevano i cesti dell'erba e mettono in agitazione lombrichi e altri vermi, ed è cosi che il Picchio ne approfitta per un buon banchetto. È ovvio che anche altri uccelli onnivori adottano questa strategia.
