Il lago di Calaita si trova nell'alta valle del Vanoi, con il Cimon della Pala sullo sfondo, circondato da larici e abeti con i colori autunnali è uno spettacolo. Il lago, che si trova a 15 km da Fiera di Primiero, è facilmente raggiungibile in auto percorrendo la strada per il passo della Gobbera, che parte appena fuori della lunga galleria che collega il Primiero con la valle del Vanoi. Sulle sue rive, a sud, sorge il rifugio Miralago. Sono numerosi i sentieri che dai paesi del Primero conducono al lago da dove partono facili ed interessanti passeggiate, come il collegamento pedonale con San Martino di Castrozza e Siror.
