To be honest, the settings were a result of me panicking a little as I tried to get my shot! I was shooting into near darkness (with the light quickly changing) from inside a brightly lit plane, through a smudgy window covered on the outside with condensation - this is completely outside my experience! Initial shots produced either a totally black, under exposed image or one that was mostly showing the window with lots of reflections of my black and white striped top! These settings at least gave me an image I could work with! I also used a circular polariser, which helped a little. Any guidance for how I might approach the subject, should I ever get another chance, most welcome!
