at 29mm, 1/125 f/11.0, ISO 100, hand held. Krka National Park, Croatia.

Il profondo estuario, quasi un fiordo dalle pareti a strapiombo, del fiume KrKa (Cherca) che scorre nell'altopiano carsico alle spalle di Sibenik. L'area di straordinaria bellezza che attraversa forma il Parco Nazionale KrKa. La prima parte é visitabile anche a piedi, mentre risalendo lungo il corso del fiume le visite proseguono con varie tappe su battelli. Vi sono all'interno del parco un antico convento francescano del XV-XVII secolo con una biblioteca che vanta tra l'altro una delle tre copie conosciute delle "Favole" di Esopo pubblicate a Dubrovnik nel 1487. Proseguendo, oltre alla vista di spettacolari cascate, si giunge ad un altro monastero ortodosso del quattrocento. Nella foto, sullo sfondo, si vede il paese di Skardin (Scardona) porto fluviale già dei romani, uno dei punti di accesso al parco. Foto ripresa da una terrazza panoramica sull'autostrada Split - Rijeka.
