Opera dello scultore razionalista Francesco Saverio Palozzi, la statua raffigurante il mitico personaggio fu collocata nel 1937, con chiare funzioni simboliche, nel piazzale antistante l'ingresso del Palazzo del Collegio Aeronautico in Piazza della Vittoria. L'intera area, progettata ed edificata nel rispetto dei nuovi canoni architettonici, costituiva una sorta di celebrazione del regime fascista e l'intera cittadina, in quanto luogo natale di Mussolini, svolse un ruolo di rappresentanza di prim'ordine ...
