Sullo sfondo il Rocciamelone (Rociamlon in piemontese, Rochemelon in francese) alto 3.538,sulla cui sommità vi è posta una statua in bronzo, dedicata alla Madonna, realizzata nel 1899 ed inaugurata il 28 agosto di quell'anno grazie ad una grandiosa sottoscrizione di 130.000 bambini di tutta Italia, ideata dal Vescovo di Susa Mons. Edoardo Giuseppe Rosaz. La statua, portata in vetta a spalle dagli alpini del battaglione "Susa" appartenenti al Quarto Reggimento alpini (era stata preventivamente divisa in otto pezzi), è alta 3 metri ed ha al suo interno una fitta armatura di rinforzo e sostegno in ferro dal peso complessivo di ben 800 kg. In primo piano la Sacra di San Michele che è un complesso architettonico collocato sul monte Pirchiriano, all'imbocco della val di Susa. Situato nel territorio del comune di Sant'Ambrogio di Torino poco sopra la borgata San Pietro, appartiene alla diocesi di Susa. È il monumento simbolo del Piemonte e una delle più eminenti architetture religiose di questo territorio alpino, transito per i pellegrini tra Italia e Francia. Ristrutturato, è stato affidato alla cura dei padri rosminiani.
