L'ambiente, pensato come sala di alta rappresentanza, occupa il posto della Grande Galleria che collegava il Palazzo Reale al Palazzo Madama e ospitava le collezioni dei Savoia. Distrutta dopo gli incendi del 1659 e il 1667, la sua ricostruzione è progettata da Filippo Juvarra nel 1733 che ne disegna anche la decorazione. Il nome con il quale la galleria è oggi conosciuta gli viene dal pittore di corte, il torinese Claudio Francesco Beaumont che, fra il 1738 e il 1743, dipinge a olio sulla volta le Storie di Enea.Gli stucchi ai due estremi della galleria sono opera di Giuseppe Muttoni (1737-1741).Nella galleria del Beaumont ci si imbatte nella spettacolare parata di cavalli scolpiti in legno e rivestiti in pelle di cavallo sormontati da armature assieme alle preziose collezione d'armi.
