Il primpo piano, composto dalle piume, lo trovo confuso e distraente. Personalmente avrei preferito una sola piuma focalizzando meglio l'attenzione sulla goccia.
Per quanto riguarda la qualità dell'immagine la vedo poco definita con un uso della MDC eccessivo e con dei bianchi bruciati.

Per quanto attiene le tue gradite osservazioni, cerco di risponderti e lo faccio volentieri.
Riguardo ai bianchi; c'è una leggera sovraesposizione lungo le "dorsali" delle due piume ma il resto, se non ricordo male, LR non me lo indicava come bruciato... Ho scelto di mantenere la luminosità che vedi che, personalmente, non mi disturbava.
Dal punto di vista compositivo a me non dispiace che vi sia più di una piuma perchè erano minuscole e temo che una soltanto sarebbe stata "un po' povera" ma, sono sincera, erano incollate assieme alla base e proprio non ho nemmeno valutato di staccarle.
La maggiore difficoltà che ho incontrato in questo scatto, a parte far rimanere in equilibrio la goccia, è stato il micromosso dato dall'aria generata dal tiraggio del camino...non è stato affatto semplice riuscire a congelare i soggetti e sono conscia del fatto che la resa della nitidezza non sia assolutamente perfetta. Non mi pareva però troppo eccessiva la MDC... forse l'effetto risulta un po' esasperato sulla parte in alto a sinistra della piuma.
