Ed è così che si è appena conclusa una delle esperienze fotografiche più belle ed istruttive della mia vita. Tutto iniziò nel luglio del 2012 quando per la prima volta vidi un Allocco adulto venire a rinfrescarsi in una pozza d'acqua vicino casa. Tenni controllata la pozza per tutta l'estate e registrai con abitudinaria frequenza l'arrivo di questo splendido rapace e ciò mi permise di tentare alcuni scatti con una fotocellula. I risultati non furono qualitativamente eccezionali ma furono l'inizio di lunga avventura. Sempre quell'estate documentai alla pozza l'arrivo di due giovani dell'anno già capaci nel volo ma dal piumaggio ancora incompleto. Iniziai a leggere sui libri quanto più possibile per imparare comportamenti e abitudini del soggetto in questione mentre gli scatti di Sergio Luzzini e Luigi Meroni, correlati dai loro racconti sul campo, mi lasciavo d'incanto. L'anno dopo con la fine dell'inverno e l'inizio della primavera iniziai ad uscire la sera per andare ad ascoltare i richiami penetranti del maschio che rivendicava il suo territorio da quello dei maschi vicini. Era un concerto che mi emozionava tanto e le ore trascorse al buio nel bosco volavano fra il batti e ribatti di 3 maschi diversi. Non mancarono gli incontri, altrettanto emozionanti, e in primavera avanzata si aggiunsero i vocalizzi della femmina in risposta a quelli del maschio. Ogni giorno riportavo sul mio taccuino le esperienze vissute finché arrivò l'estate e volevo riprovare a fotografarli allo stagno con l'intento di migliorare i risultati dell'anno prima. Per farlo dovevo migliorare la tecnica di ripresa e mi affidai ad un professionista, Bruno De Faveri. I suoi insegnamenti furono fondamentali e mi allenai l'inverno a fotografare i picchi muratore in picchiata sulla mangiatoia per prendere dimestichezza. A metà Marzo di quest'anno arrivò la svolta quando trovai la femmina di allocco in cova nel nido. Attesi con pazienza che i piccoli avessero un paio di settimane e poi iniziai ad osservare i movimenti degli adulti piantando una tenda a 50-70 metri dal nido, nascosta fra la vegetazione, che diventò la mia prima casa. Con una telecamera ad infrarossi ed uno schermo trascorrevo le notti ad osservare quello che succedeva la fuori. A venti-trenta giorni dalla nascita e con la consapevolezza di non compromettere più la nidiata, piazzai la fotocellula collegata alla macchina fotografica per fotografare gli adulti che tornavano al nido con le prede. Non fu però un inizio felice perché mi ci volle un po' per capire come regolare la fotocellula e la messa a fuoco in modo da ottenere foto nitide e ben inquadrate. Al contrario gli adulti procedevano indisturbati senza preoccuparsi troppo dei lampi depotenziati dei flash e della macchina fotografica collocata a una decina di metri dal nido. Alla fine, a pochi giorni dall'involo dei nidiacei, ecco che ottengo finalmente i frutti di un lungo lavoro, di pazienza, amore e dedizione, volto soprattutto a non arrecare nessun danno ai soggetti. Questa esperienza mi ha lasciato molto dal punto di vista naturalistico e fotografico e in cambio si è presa un po' di salute lasciandomi con il mal di schiena per il freddo e l'umidità delle notti trascorse in tenda. Vi posto la foto di una predazione che non avrei mai pensato. Un orbettino portato al nido è stata una sorpresa inaspettata. Per il resto talpe, moscardini, toporagni, ratti, topi, grilli, cavallette, nidiacei di altri uccelli e uccellini. Non si sono fatti mancare nulla.
