Il territorio è senza dubbio quello preferito per la caccia dei ghepardi. Con l'erba alta cercano una posizione sopraelevata per meglio osservare l'orizzonte. Spesso salgono sui termitai, alcune volte in mancanza d'altro e se sono intraprendenti salgono sul cofano delle jeep. Anche la sua posizione, con il muso proteso in avanti è indicativa; potrebbe aver notato una potenziale occasione e fa così per calcolare le sue possibilità e la distanza, poi o lascia perdere oppure scende a terra e piano piano senza farsi notare si avvicina alla potenziale preda, oppure potrebbe aver individuato nel suo territorio altri ghepardi o peggio altri predatori. Bravo Marco per averlo ripreso in questa posa che oltre che inusuale è davvero interessante.

Caro Paolo, grazie della consueta spiegazione, sempre molto interessante.
In questo specifico caso stavamo fotografando una coppia di ghepardi sul termitaio... Quando ad un certo punto Memy, che era su un'altra jeep, ha aperto la portiera per fotografarli dal basso, allertano uno dei due felini che si è messo in posizione, mentre l'altro si è abbassato completamente (e non si vede in questa immagine)..

Dear Paul, thanks to the usual explanation, always very interesting.
In this specific case we were photographing a pair of cheetahs on termite mound at some point ... When Memy, who was on another jeep, opened the door to photograph them from the bottom, alert one of the two felines who is put into place , while the other is turned down completely (and you do not see in this picture) .. :-) :-) Grazie Paolo e Saverio!
