I think the clouds and snow should maintain a similar tone as they are accessed by the same light

forget a simple catherine particular, that the snow reflects the light, while the clouds, clouds in particular those that are more than clouds mist, the light let it go so ok on similar shade, but not on the amount of color (forgive the My technical language, but the substance is)
from the photo that I changed I have not removed the yellow cast, in fact I would have fallen again, the important thing in all the processes that are done mainly in landscape photography, the result is credible and appropriate to the situation in this light.

Now I expect a treatise on photometry (I do not know if you say so):-D:-D:-D:-D

You do not need a treaty of photometry, we're talking about personal feelings, the wb of the scene was probably different, or it brings everything back to a lower value or are we talking of interpretation, so it seems normal that everyone sees it in his own way, to me a strong color difference between the two subjects under the same sun is not convincing because there is a transition zone between the fog and the land that it becomes difficult to manage, but it is only just a personal view, in landscape photography that does not mean photo natural strength, consistency holding it or abandon it completely for personal interpretation and emotional, they are usually the middle ground does not work ;-)
Greetings :-)

Daniel Thank you very much, too Gentile

Catherine and Simone, thank you for the steps, but especially for the comparison to which personally I give a very high value because it allows me to see my work

I think this lends itself to interpretations given the situation. What I have done is definitely scladare the picture because my camera always makes the cold with little light and I thought it was right because it is the middle of August and the sun goes up quickly. Then maybe I exaggerated. One thing to keep in mind is that the dirty snow and tends to be yellowish.

thanks again

Ohhhhhh! I finally managed to make inca @ @ are the catherine! there wanted but in the end I succeeded. ;-)
apart from the fact that we are on a forum, and if someone contradicts your words do not need to ignite that way, I have never been allowed to contradict anyone's tastes, I just challenged your phrase that sounded more like a as a rule that your personal taste .. sorry if I misinterpreted your comment.
however, do not worry I do not let more than counter your opinions, so it never occurred and will never occur that we come to a point comune.ma the fault is mine that preclude me to seek confrontation at all costs .
hello to you too
hello simone

ps
to me a strong color difference between the two subjects under the same sun does not convince

and who spoke with a strong difference? do you think that my version is too much?

are usually the middle ground does not work

In this case, I think, FOR MY OWN PERSONAL TASTE that the middle way functions and how.

But I figured if I lose my temper for these things:-D:-D, the first to contradict someone in this case was me, we see it differently this shot, that's all, the comparison is fine but it has not even said that in the end you have to be agree no problem ;-) :-) :-)

Nicola Pezzatini: thanks late, I had almost missed your comment that came to my response superimposed.

Thank you Clare, I like to get opinions because I learn so. apart from the tone of the thing is that I'm convinced that with the 17-40 snow that looks like a bersagliio at the bottom would have been far smaller and contributing to a sense of emptiness. will be for the next, of course caught in the midst of clouds so it will be tough.

hello to all gianmarco

Gianmarco Hello, nice shooting and a bit 'different from your usual. Quoto many have so far enjoyed despite their various interpretations. As I usually do not comment much about the technical management because out of my reach but especially the feeling that the pictures I send. This I consider very timely, fully reflects the situation that prevails in our country. We are all on the brink of a precipice without being able to see a way out. The mist hides everything and if you look down you might think that a nice flight sistemerebbe everything. But it is not so, if we raise our eyes we see a light ... hope. Hold on and continue on our journey, as you do in the mountains at a steady pace until you reach the summit.
I think the "Commissioner" has infected me with the slowness of responses and comments, but no longer having to fumarand I've got to do something else.
Good evening.
Riccardo

Thank you Gianluca

I'm glad, it's a shot stolen from the clouds that run, posting it if that done thirty seconds while I tried the shot would put you all to laugh, it was a lot of luck

hello gianmarco

The PP Simone makes the picture a little less hot, perhaps more suited to what we wanted to highlight. For the vacuum still do not rendermene account so if I see the picture vertically in its entirety, if I look at it without the top until about without the sun, I seem to look down. Maybe yes, you're right, with 17/40 would have made more sense of the precipice.
hello
I was forgetting: the eye spots of the sensor, especially on the top right and center.

grazei Massimo, points of view, perhaps the vertical cut that little is conciglia with the screen ...
I always seem to fall into it, but maybe it's because I was there and I know what is under the snow

hello thanks again

Hello Ginmarco. Aside from the lights and dominant as regards the breast depth, it seems to me that you perceive enough but maybe not as much as it really is.
Surely your composition leads the eye to where you wanted but could not be references is not easy to perceive it until the end. The shot is well done and I think the idea of ??17/40 is not bad, but maybe there should be a comparison because it would change everything, but perhaps with the same proportions. A word of advice? Definitely a step back:-D
Greetings and congratulations to you both for taking the rest. I would be afraid to 3000 mt of beating your head:-D
Dino
