Dal mio punto di vista preferisco la prima versione per la bella incisività e stacco tra ombre e luci.
Non dò mai molto peso alle ''bruciature'' una foto la guardo nel suo insieme e mi pongo come primo obbiettivo l'impatto scenico che può dare lo scorcio proposto.
Qui trovo tale impatto coinvolgente.

From my point of view I prefer the first version for the nice and crisp separation between shadows and highlights.
Do not ever give much weight to'' burn'' a look at the photos as a whole and as the first goal I set the visual impact that can give you the glimpse proposed.
Here I found absorbing the impact.

Appena l'ho vista mi ha ricordato una foto esposta in una piccola mostra al rifugio branchino in val canale... Magari non sei lo stesso fotografo, ma il luogo sono sicuro che è quello perché è tanto bello quanto difficile da dimenticare... Complimenti

@Max: grazie anche a te! Sul formato verticale con soggetto le cascate mi trovi d'accordo: per loro natura richiedono un formato verticale. Ma non sempre.
In questo caso lo scatto orizzontale serve principalmente a non tagliare lo specchio d'acqua.
Questo motivo insieme all'impossibilità di muoversi e spostarsi a piacere, non mi ha permesso di posizionare la cascata su uno dei terzi dell'immagine come avrei voluto.

hai provato uno scatto verticale? dove abito ho parecchie "cascatelle" nelle vicinanze, la tentazione di creare una foto da usare come sfondo del pc è sempre forte ma mi sono accorto che spesso dare + verticalità a questo genere rende meglio
