Dalla botta, una leggera pioggerella scivolò dalle prime foglie aggrappate ai rami, sulla testa del vecchio testardo che, sfregandosi il bozzo, levò lo sguardo per imprecare ma, notando due occhi gialli che lo osservavano, come a rimprovererarlo, esclamò:"Beica! La lh'a d' caren din 'l partu!"...... (Ma guarda: c'è qualcosa in quel buco!)
