Hippocampus denise, questo è il nome latino, è uno dei più piccoli cavallucci marini del mondo (circa 12 mm). È un maestro in mimetica e di solito vive camuffato tra i rami di coralli come Annella, Muricella ed Echinogorgia. Ha un corpo relativamente sottile coperto di protuberanze, collo lungo, muso corto e coda lunga prensile. Questa foto è stata scattata nelle acque del mare di Celebes (Nord Sulawesi, Indonesia) a circa venti metri di profondità. Questi magnifici esseri sono così piccoli e ben mimetizzati che per vederli è quasi indispensabile usare una guida subacquea esperta locale.
