Mentre i " simpatici " compagni di viaggio si affannavano nella ricerca dei leoni..... qualcuno si dedicava anche alla pregevolissima aviofauna africana...!! Scherzi a parte in tanti anni di safari è la prima volta che mi capita di vedere dei pulcini di gru coronata. Nei giorni precedenti avevamo visto regolarmente queste due gru di cui una stava sempre accovacciata tra l' erba proprio a pochi metri da dove ci recavamo perché c'era una leonessa con due cuccioletti di pochi giorni e, l' ultima sera, i leoni non c'erano più ma c'era una della gru che stava accuratamente appiettendo l' erba e poco dopo sono usciti questi buffi ed impacciati piccoletti... Questo avvistamento ha incuriosito molto ed attratto tutte le auto in zona perché solitamente le gru depongono le uova in luoghi molto appartati e lontani da occhi indiscreti ed ha rappresentato un opportunità più unica che rara....
