I guess the "plate" looks grey. It just do that. It is more difficult to get "good ice" from the freezer. Here is my answer to Saroukai from page 1

“ In this (like most of my icemacros) I have used natural ice. The patterns are better. The nature makes fine art! I have also tested ice from the freezer but the patterns are more "geometric". „

Sometimes I get also bubbles from the "freezer ice" but it is not so usual.
