Il Palazzaccio di Toiano è fortilizio di origine medievale (XI-XII sec.), situato in posizione pedecollinare in prossimità di un antico snodo viario della Montagnola Senese. Il complesso è situato lungo il percorso dell'antica Strada Maremmana, presso uno snodo viario strategico, dal quale originava una strada di valico della Montagnola Senese, diretta verso la Val d'Elsa e Volterra. Ad oggi la struttura, di enorme valore storico e paesaggistico, versa in uno stato di totale abbandono ed alcune sue parti sono a rischio di crollo.

Sono stato in vacanza da quelle parti dodici anni fa' e mi ricordo già allora il rammarico nel vedere una storica costruzione come questa ridotta nel più totale stato di abbandono. Spero che questa tua bella foto possa contribuire a far intervenire chi dovrebbe tutelare e salvaguardare l'enorme patrimonio storico ed artistico che abbiamo in Italia.
