Beppe, you can not always pre-order a set, but also improvised a photo so has its value, rather it twice, because we must learn to see. Greetings, Claudius. Among other things, I envy your ability to photograph .... "human". As you can see (if you like) I dedicate myself to just kind portrait.

Excuse my curiosity, your photos are all beautiful, but to the eyes of your daughter (which are already in itself beautiful) use something to increase the sharpness in PP?
I'm sorry and that I'm trying in all ways but I find it a huge burden to bring out the sharpness of the eyes.
Congratulations anyway I hope one day to get to the beauty of your photos and congratulations to your family! ;-)

@ Quari 1982
You are very kind to the words of praise that you have expressed for my photos
I do not think it is so difficult to do some portrait of a good standard!
I can relate my experience in the field and beyond the normal every technical detail, partly from 'observation of the subject and the desire during shooting to get images from the spontaneous expression. Of course, being the eyes "the mirror of the 'soul', an expressive portrait may fail if the eyes are expressive.
This clarity is important ... how to do? I answer with some simple basic rules:

The eyes should receive adequate lighting: if natural, it works well one day a little veiled
I do not use the flash! - An economic remedy mto effectively cope with less than ideal lighting situation or shooting in backlit is a small LED spotlight for use in video-photo (cost about 100 €). The spotlight should be taken not far from the model - I personally hold in my hand - and coupled to an optical 50mm on APSC (use nikon d7000 equivalent to a 75mm) I find myself at an ideal distance to be able to do everything on your own - in If children portraits ... You need to be able to continuously move the light to follow the subject .. not really willing to take pictures!

Returning to daylight - if you're in the house - takes advantage of the good light of a window exposed to NORD - will not direct sunlight - and at certain times of the day - it gives a lovely light.

Use a high-quality optics, for example 50 mm 1.8 nikon with a cost of cirapprox € 200 gives excellent results - better use it to F3.2 (on the depth of field) - especially if the subject is not parallel to the focal plane of the SLR.

Obviously important to focus well on the eyes! I use the single central point of the MAF - I hold down to lock and recompose.

The sharpness is also linked to the rough - not a steady hand or a very short time - with the 50 mm does not ever go down below 1/80
I prefer to raise the iso.

In post production I got to see that opening the files with nikon capture - the colors of the 'flesh appear more natural than ACR. In Photo shop - almost always requires an application (with a radius of not greater than 1.5) l 'application of an unsharp mask - perhaps by selecting knowthe eyes. Sometimes with the Burn tool give more light to the eyes.

Everything I told you - it's nothing earth-shattering - are simple rules .... if you seem trivial, then it means that you already have the knowledge of how to do it! you just have to shoot .. shoot .. and shoot!

I'm always available ..... greetings, Beppe
