Greetings to all. Help me to understand being profane ... how can you be everything in focus from the foreground to the background of the post with the houses if you used the f / 4?
The first thing that is taught is just a small aperture (f/11 - f/16) to increase the pdc? I am that I have not figured it out yet or what?
thanks for the clarification. I had the same question to another photo with the same characteristics but I have never received answer: fconfuso:

SorrisoSorriso

Thanks again to everyone for the visits and expressions of esteem. Also answer to Felux about the opening of f / 4. Yes, course the first thing they teach you is that with apertures of f/16 of/22 is the maximum depth of field, but the PDF is high also and especially in shorter focal and granmdangoli. Here the picture is taken with the only autofocus lens I own (the others all work in manual and aperture I have to record in a notebook that I carry with me not being able to read the machine) then the data are those recorded in the raw file . I can confirm that the aperture is f / 4, but the mystery is easily explained: 18-55 lens with which the picture is taken the focus ring has the following values: 0.25 m 0.35 m 0, 0.6 m 1m 2m 45m infinity. Considering that the pole was far away from me approx. 4 meters, that's the focus I falls between the two thresholds 2m to infinity. Working with the focus on the 2/3 of the image, even with a fully open aperture you can have a fire very well until al'infinito and recoveryperare PP any slight blur on the pole. Also remember that at constant aperture, focus at greater distances increases nitideza is in the background and in the foreground. If you choose a point of focus, with a generic f, say for example. 10 meters and read the clear image up to 16 (always speaking, however, a wide angle in which the depth of field is becoming more evident), you can be almost sure to see a clear image of the first line of fire until the middle of difference between 16m and 10m (3m), ie up to 10m-3m = 7m. Between 7 and 16 meters, focusing on 10 meters you will have everything in focus. on my goals there is still the old scale hyperfocal to conclude on the basis of the values ??f the maximum depth of field available on the new ones just calcolarsela. I hope to have been exhaustive. Hello and thanks for visiting. :-) :-)

Grazie ancora a tutti voi.

Teresa forgot that finds the pole intrusive. And 'likely to generate this impression. I had already made a trip without including the photo but it seemed unbalanced and flat, too divided into a top half and a bottom and nothing that linking with some force: the pole seemed like a good choice. Maybe I screwed up bad and again I did not realize it. Thank you for your assistance and for expressing your concerns and thanks to Girang which the photo does not convey much but that I really appreciate for his outspokenness. Thanks again to all of you.

Ancora complimenti!
Ciao, Teresa

It is still a beautiful photo, pole intrusive or less ;-)
then that is a feeling, given the fact that maybe I can not see the picture on the monitor in its entirety.
I really like your photos, search for style and detail.
Congratulations again!

Beautiful and original, I find it absolutely wrong and the pole from the particularity that it deserves.
I'm not one who often use the tripod and then a long time shooting but I am impressed with the fact that time to 1/3 of a second water does not give the blur, I guess depends on the little light ... I have to try it too! congratulations again!

Grazie a Marcellino68 e Luca Andrighetto.

Thanks to Marcellino68 and Luke Andrighetto. I admit that after the fact of Felux69 I just went back to watch the shooting data, sometimes it can be confusing but confirm that they are correct (but actually a little 'rough water notice). Thanks again visits :-) :-)

Beautiful, reminds me of a very famous painting by Magritte.
Indeed, if we make the fussy (or critics ...), I would have preferred without the reflection on the water left
and perhaps with the "pole" positioned in another way.
But the atmosphere is really caught in a sublime moment.

Thanks Mark :-) Let me return to a few lines above for the explanation of the decision to include the pole. For the reflection, in fact I could take it off but I admit that I have much sympathy for the key clone ;-) ;-)
