ho pensato a questo titolo semplicemente perchè lo scoiattolo grigio (sciurus carolinensis), originario dell'America del Nord, è stato introdotto in Europa nel XX° secolo e si è diffuso molto velocemente a discapito del più piccolo e vulnerabile scoiattolo rosso (sciurus vulgaris), nativo del continente europeo.
Figurati che lo scoiattolo grigio, benché carino da vedere e fotografare, è stato inserito nell'elenco delle 100 specie invasive più dannose al mondo stilata dall'Unione internazionale per la conservazione della natura.

Dear Gianmarco,
I thought of this title simply because the gray squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis), a native of North America, was introduced in Europe in the twentieth century and has spread very quickly at the expense of the most vulnerable and small red squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) , a native of Europe. :-D
I figured that the gray squirrel, although nice to see and photograph has been included in the list of 100 most harmful invasive species in the world compiled by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. ;-) :-)
