, 1/125 f/7.1, ISO 100, hand held.

Congratulations for the really attractive shot, and then the classic..."two birds with one stone"... if "not three" since the residual ash is an excellent natural fertilizer ... Nothing is thrown away, we must learn from the healthy circular economy of the old countries. Nice ;-)

Thank you Simone! It had its considerable limitations, Stone Age Autofocus compared to those of now, sensitive noise already at iso 800 (but with the denoise of now there would not be major problems perhaps up to and including 6400) and almost toy-like plasticity... but the jpgs were AMAZING. For weeks I didn't shoot in Raw (which is very rare for me) or, typically shooting in Raw+Jpg, it happened that the seconds were more than enough.

Thank you Peter. This is vulgar wood, and I think it was early afternoon.

The JPEGs of that period were less contrasting, more "round" .... Which was not a bad thing considering that printing a photo, with quality prints, extreme sharpness is not so necessary

Thank you Mary.
Yes, Fabrizio, although it can change a lot depending on the sharpening value set in the machine (or given out, in post).

I like this image of fire.
It definitely caught my attention right from the preview.
I really enjoyed reading your technical caption with the "genesis" of the shot and more, interesting and for Nikonisti instructive and comparison. (as it should be).
