Ho scattato questa fotografia a Oniferi un paese del centro Sardegna prima che iniziasse una manifestazione del carnevale barbaricino, ho notato un bambino seduto in disparte che mi guardava con due occhioni curiosi, indossava l'abito tipico della maschera de “Sos de s'Iscusorzu” del paese di Teti . “Sos de s'Iscusorzu”, sono i Pastori che, avvolti in un nero cappotto di orbace (su Saccu), accompagnano con un ritmo solenne e impassibile “su Sennoreddu” che è un'entità magica identificabile a tratti come demone, a tratti come folletto, i pastori lo spingono lungo un percorso forzato che lo condurrà a essere sopraffatto dagli umani che finalmente potranno impossessarsi del suo tesoro. Il loro volto, come quello del bambino della foto, è uniformato dal nero del carbone bruciato, di solito hanno il capo chino e gli occhi coperti dal lungo cappuccio del “gabbano”, calzano gli scarponi e i gambali del pastore, mentre brandiscono a ritmo costante un grosso e nodoso bastone cinto di una dozzina di campanacci.
