Mi piace che ci sia parecchio spazio sotto, quasi a dare suspance che possa cadere da un momento all'altro!  Però pochissimo spazio in più sopra era necessario, anche giusto per non far toccare la foglia al bordo superiore.
Personalmente avrei chiuso il diaframma un pelo di più, per avere tutta la chiocciola a fuoco. Oppure - forse ma sarebbe da provare - un'alternativa più "azzardata" poteva essere ridurre al massimo la profondità di campo focalizzando solo il centro della chiocciola.
Il ritocco invece non lo trovo ben fatto: lo sfondo è troppo granuloso e probabilmente hai spinto troppo la chiarezza o qualcosa di simile (guarda ad esempio l'alone sulla foglia in alto).
Spero di essere stato costruttivo e buon divertimento!

I like that there is a lot of space underneath, as if to give suspense that could fall at any moment! :-/ But no more space above it was necessary, just so as not to touch the leaf to the top edge.
Personally I would have closed the aperture a hair more, to have the whole nut in focus. Or - maybe but would try it out - a more "risky" could be reduced to a maximum depth of field, focusing only on the center of the spiral.
Remodeling rather not find it well done: the background is too grainy and you've probably gone too clarity or something like that (see for example the halo on the leaf at the top).

Thanks for the advice and the passage. I love to walk and take pictures. For retouching instead are a "duffer" and then tweaking as little as possible, with Fastone.
