Altro giorno…. Altri panorami ….. Oggi ci muoviamo all'interno della caldera del vulcano Galan, fino a raggiungerne la cresta a 4850 mt.s.l.m. La caldera, antichissima e molto grande (la seconda più grande al mondo con circa 40 km di diametro) è stata scoperta qualche decina di anni fa solo grazie alle foto satellitari. Solo una ventina di anni fa alcuni ricercatori minerari hanno trovato il passaggio per raggiungere il vulcano con gli automezzi. Ancora oggi questo luogo è raggiunto da poche decine di persone ogni anno. All'interno si trovano tracce che consentono di attraversarne le pianure ed i rilievi. Sono presenti anche diverse lagune ed un campo geotermico con fuoriuscita di acqua bollente. La prima laguna che incontriamo è la Laguna Grande , quasi completamente ghiacciata, ad una altitudine di circa 4150 mt. E' un lago salino che in primavera diventa un punto di ritrovo per migliaia di fenicotteri, tra cui la specie della Puna e quella andina..
