Soncino in 9mm - S.Maria delle Grazie sent on October 07, 2025 (20:34) by Magnum58. 38 comments, 513 views. [retina]

, 1.3 sec f/8.0, ISO 100, tripod.

A very good interior with pretty nice frescoes.
At first I noticed the strangeness of seeing legible points and others even if close less clear, then I read your explanation and I changed my mind.

One of the two reproduces colors that are not his own.
Which one?
The paintings on the walls show a different color.
The time a little less.
I don't know.
I will go in person to see for myself.

However, your photos are, as usual, excellent. Good.

Thank you very much, but in this series I had to pay more attention to the use of a lens never used before, both for focal length and type, so the attention to detail, especially in the shooting phase, was certainly not at its best... ;-)

Fabrizio I write for me what I think but I have to start with these words: I'm not a technician I don't understand technical milks but I enlarged all to me they don't seem unclear indeed they are very sharp and I also like colors (in PP have you right colors, white balance?) of course I like BN a lot but I repeat the colors are very beautiful and I also shoot 14mm. A question to lighten up: did you bring the tripod? Does it hurt back?? :-D greetings Peter :-)

Hi Peter, it's true, the photos are very sharp, but on this one in particular you can actually see the corrections made with the PS "remove" tool. If you look at the one of the next post you will notice that in correspondence with the deleted elements (which you can see in the first photo of the comments of the other post) you will not notice the lack of definition as you notice in this one.
Yes, I brought the easel, of course...! But I only had the 9 mm camera with me, and in the whole tour I walked less than 1 km..., so in these situations the tripod is also welcome... :-D
Thank you for your always attentive and precise comments ;-)
Have a nice evening.
Fabrizio

I'm a fanatic of ultra Wide.
I have for Canon the 11-24 F4 L series and a 10 mm laowa AF, very light and microscopic for Sony.
I must say that the distortion is quite different.
Of course, the 2.5kg Canon wins hands down.

Hi Reeboh, are you talking about barrel distortion? I don't know the two lenses you mentioned, nor had I ever tried before (except the old Sgma 12-24) a lens wider than 14mm. The other thing that surprised me about this 7Artisan is the almost total absence of distortion, so much so that it is not necessary to have a profile on PS for its correction. Also in this respect I think that this 9 mm can be considered passed with flying colors.... ;-)

Sorry if I ask you for information.
But is the church always so empty? I ask for the use of the tripod. It is not always usable.
Thank you

In the two times I have been there, always on weekdays, only a few visitors isolated both times, but I have never met any person in charge who told me not to use the easel (which by the way he used only this last time). The same thing also for the other two churches. In the main one (Parish Church of S. Maria Assunta) there was also the sacristan who worked on the microphones on the altar, but although there were two of us moving around the church with the easels mounted, he did not pose any objection.... ;-)

Thanks Claudio, I would say that color (in general) is preferred in most cases. It has always been for me in the analogue era. Only now with digital I have discovered a certain passion for the bn, perhaps because at the time I never wanted to engage in printing, which was an art parallel to photographic shooting... ;-)
Have a nice Sunday.
