Il gatto tigre (Leopardus tigrinus), conosciuto anche come tigrillo o oncilla è un piccolo felide diffuso nelle foreste pluviali del Centro e Sud America. Il gatto tigre assomiglia ai suoi congeneri Ocelot e Margay, ma è più piccolo, slanciato e dal muso più allungato. Ha un folto mantello color ocra, maculato con rosette nere. È un animale notturno che caccia piccoli mammiferi, lucertole e uccelli. La specie predilige ambienti di foresta pluviale e nelle Ande della Colombia è stata avvistata fino ai 4.500 m di altitudine. È un felino molto schivo e viene difficilmente avvistato e fotografato in natura. Secondo la Lista Rossa IUCN, i Gatto tigre sono rari ovunque nel loro habitat, con una popolazione totale in forte declino, per perdita dell'habitat e bracconaggio.
