A soli 250 metri circa dalla celebre Fontana di Trevi, si trova il molto meno conosciuto Oratorio del Santissimo Crocifisso. La costruzione dell'Oratorio fu voluta nel 1562 dalla Confraternita del Santissimo Crocifisso che fino a quel momento aveva avuto sede nella vicina chiesa di San Marcello al Corso. Il progetto fu affidato all'architetto Giacomo Della Porta che concluse i lavori nel 1568. Durante la Repubblica Romana del 1798-1799, il luogo fu depredato e devastato, e rimase fatiscente fino al restauro del 1821. Oggi è sede dell'Oratorio Musicale Romano, centro di elaborazione di musica sacra....(musicpaper.it)
