:-) Suggestive image, seen from the bottom of empty bottles [not the compliments of an expert alcoholic :-P ] ;
... I add a piece of news that I have just read:
in 2024 a historical document shed light on the end of Nicolò Luxardo, born in 1886, the eldest of the Luxardo brothers and a figure of great importance in the Zadar community, owner of the historic liquor company founded in 1821: on September 30, 1944, Nicolò was taken by Tito's partisans; for years the legend was believed that he had been killed by throwing him into the sea and hitting him with oars: the 2024 historical document, on the other hand, sheds light on his end: he was shot [along with others] on December 16, 1944, an execution ordered by the Ozna.

Thank you Giancarlo also for this information! During our visit to the Luxardo Museum we listened to the guide's story and we were also able to see an old film with an interview with Giorgio Luxardo, the only survivor of the fourth generation and the one who refounded and restarted the company in Torreglia in 1947. His testimony still spoke of the 'probable drowning' of the older brothers Nicolò (together with his wife) and Pietro - at the hands of Tito's soldiers, although the guide later told us that the circumstances of their death are not yet fully clarified. It is good that clarity has been made, we can imagine that even the current ownership of the company is informed of it.
Thanks again for sharing.
Hello
Marcello
