il torrione del castello, pdr difficile. Purtroppo, nel mese di febbraio, nei giorni feriali, il castello e' chiuso al pubblico. Vogogna rappresenta l'ultima porta d'accesso verso nord e verso Domodossola: un borgo affascinante, ricco di storia e dall'atmosfera davvero unica, in grado di catturare l'attenzione dei visitatori di ogni età. Tra I Borghi più belli d'Italia, Vogogna è un vero e proprio scrigno di preziosi tesori da scoprire attraverso una visita rigorosamente slow. Il nome trarrebbe origine dall'antico popolo che abitava queste terre prima dei Romani, i Galli Agoni: Vogogna, quindi, da Vallis Agonum, villaggio degli Agoni. Circondato da fortificazioni militari, un tempo florido borgo sull'antica strada del Sempione, Vogogna conserva oggi angoli e scorci suggestivi e l'inaspettato vigore di un Medioevo sulle cui strade è affascinante camminare e lasciarsi sorprendere. Qui ogni cosa, dalle beole dei tetti agli acciottolati che ancora accompagnano i passi, dal grigio della pietra al verde dei monti, richiama ricordi passati, profondità di misteri, come la Rocca che sembra nata dalla nuda roccia. Le antiche testimonianze che scendono nel pozzo della storia fino ai Celti ricompongono oggi il quadro di un paese che nel Castello Visconteo ospita un centro multimediale di portata nazionale.
