Buonasera a tutti cari amici stamattina sono rientrato dal mio viaggio nei Lake District, Great Manchester, Lancashire e Liverpool. Un viaggio assai impegnativo data la distanza da Pisa e dato le non facili condizioni meteo di queste zone spesso ombrose e piovigginose; ma detto questo ce la siamo cavata con difficoltà, ma abbastanza bene pur dovendo rinunciare per il meteo a delle belle escursioni di trekking che mi ero puntigliosamente preparato. La luce ogni tanto si è decisa a farsi vedere anche se bisogna essere molto lesti con la reflex a catturarla perché si spegne velocemente. Nelle note citerò spesso un grande scrittore, un mio mentore insieme al dottor Tangheroni, sul mondo anglosassone che ha scritto due bellissimi libri sul Regno Unito che consiglio a tutti di leggere: Bill Bryson…. Questa foto è rappresentativa di come si è presentato a me il Lake district sabato 3 Agosto pomeriggio: dopo più di 22 ore di macchina non ho esitato un attimo ad arrampicarmi per qualche km sulla fantastica collina del Cat Bells che domina il Dewentwater e lo Skiddaw considerata la montagna più antica del Lake District. Ne sono uscito distrutto ma semplicemente entusiasta per essermi goduto questo spettacolo in compagnia di questa luce una delle poche della settimana! Buona visione. Cat Bells è una collina nel Lake District inglese nella contea di Cumbria . Ha un'altezza di 451 metri ed è una delle colline più popolari della zona. Si trova sulla sponda occidentale di Derwentwater a tre miglia dalla trafficata città turistica di Keswick . La sua forma distintiva cattura l'attenzione di molti visitatori dei laghi che si sentono obbligati a salire in cima dopo averla vista dal punto panoramico di Friars' Crag sul lato opposto di Derwentwater.
