Il branco, in realtà più numeroso di quello qui ritratto e composto da almeno un altro grosso maschio e un paio di femmine, è pronto a mettersi in movimento e in caccia. Sono tutti “sull'attenti”. Il segnale lo dà la femmina in primo piano, che si incammina. Uno dopo l'altro i leoni si alzano e la seguono, disciplinati e ordinati. Sembra una sfilata quella cui assistiamo. A cacciare, poi, saranno prevalentemente le femmine, con i maschi a protezione del branco e comunque pronti ad avventarsi sulla preda che avranno catturato.
